If we can afford to wage war on the country for 20 years, we can find space for those made homeless by that war. We also have to put our money where our mouths are. If we have spare rooms and can have people in our house, we can offer it through Room for Refugees. If we are landlords, we can rent at prices that are affordable. And if we have spare change, we can pool it to make homes for those with nowhere else to go. It is what humans do. It is who we are. We make space for all.

We have been busy as always supporting people to build their home in Brighton. Because it has been particularly cold, we helped people buy heaters and blankets and other useful things to help you get through the cold snap. It was particularly important for the men housed in Brighton by the Home Office. The houses are so poorly equipped and in at least one the boiler is on the blink that some heaters and blankets and a very long way.
It has been another busy month at Thousand 4 1000. Not only have we been busy raising funds by selling masks and Christmas cards, one of our newest members, Jimmy, set about raising money by restricting his consumption in the run-up to Christmas to just £1 a day. It was an anti-consumerist move designed to encourage people with a little more than enough to share some of their abundance with those without. He raised over £1000.
